Solution
The A6795A is not supported under Linux.
http://www.hp.com/products1/unixserverconnectivity/storagesnf2/adapter15/specifications/index.html
You need the A6826A card.

I also agree. I think you have the wrong card. HP is pretty specific about this stuff.
