Front Power LED light on Compaq Presario R3140US laptop.

Folks,
I have a Compaq Presario R3140US laptop which works fine except that the front LED power light does not turn on when the system is on. However, the power LED light at the top of the palm rest turns on. This is the AMD processor version of this laptop.
I also have another Compaq Presario R3000 intel processor version. When I turn on this computer with the same AC adapter that I used to turn on the AMD version of the Compaq Presario R3000, the power LED at the front of the intel processor version of the Compaq Presario R3000 turns on.
The only difference between these systems is that the DC jack of the Compaq Presario R3000 AMD processor version became loose and I installed a new DC jack in this laptop something I do on daily basis.Despite this, the laptop charges battery and works flawlessly except for this little problem. Anyway, I am planning to disassemble the laptop and look at the soldering joints on the MLB. It is a lot of work and I prefer not doing this.
