H/w fault not reported to OSEM

Proliant system with linux ES 5 installed did not report to OSEM for CPU failure. However SMH reported the same.Checked in OSEM logs and it shows nothing about the fault.
Can anyone suggest me which log file can be looked at to know the problem. Does IMA reads /var/log/messages to send the snmp trap to OSEM for any h/w faults? Any other logs are required to check for.
