Hardware monitoring vSphere with Nagios
For hardwaremonitoring our ESX4 HP-DL380 G6 servers we 'd like to use Nagios. Now it seems the hpasm.rpm is no longer included in the management agent for ESX4 (hpmgmt-8.6.0-vmware4x.tgz). Any ideas how to solve this?

Re: Hardware monitoring vSphere with Nagios
Never tried it myself, but my ESX cohort tells me that this article (http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/dell-management-console/m/dell_management_console-mediagallery/19527351.aspx) gives good hints about getting snmp running. From there, configuring Nagios should be a snap..

Re: Hardware monitoring vSphere with Nagios
If you want hardware monitoring, check out http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Operating-Systems/*-Virtual-Environments/VMWare/Check-hardware-running-VMware-ESXi/details
It works with ESX too, not just ESXi.
