help! redhat 7.3 can not find my netserver hard drive

I am trying to install Redhat 7.x. However, i keep getting the "No hard drives have been found... need to manually choose device drivers for the installation to succeed" message. I have 3 - 9.1 gb scssi hard drives installed.

wow! I didn't know I could do that!

Re: help! redhat 7.3 can not find my netserver hard drive

Hi,

Do you mean everything were OK after manually choosing a driver for the SCSI or RAID controller ? In this case, for me it is OK.
The only reason why the driver is not "automagically" loaded by the RedHat install software is that the PCI ID returned by the controller does not match any of the IDs pre-defined in the RedHat driver list.

On the other hand, if you meant RedHat 7.3 is not recognizing your controller, please post the characteristics of you Netserver (model, RAID or SCSI controllers, etc...).

Good luck.

Re: help! redhat 7.3 can not find my netserver hard drive

i have netserver lh pro 200 with 3 - 9.1 gb scsi hard drives. the message can not find drive somes afetr linux probe the hard ware devices. it asks me if i want to manual load the hard drive but i do not see it on th elist. also, during boot up, i see "no scsi boot device found" and " bios not installed!" i have bios 4.05.16 installed. array selection states ch-0, ID1 -ready, ID2-ready, & ID3-ready; ch-1 and ch-2 are empty.

i hope this helps.

Hi

CTRL+M ?
Are you using NetRAID?
If so, you must create logical drive before you start to install OS.

During the NetRAID initialize, you will be able to see "XX logcal drive initialized" on the CRT. or "no logical drive found" if you don't have the one.

good luck
