high load ave on nfs server

Greetings, I have a c240 plus with 512meg of RAM a 36 gig mirrored LVD(80 meg/sec) disk running 11.00. I have about 10 active users reading and writing to this disk. It is also on a 100m/b switch. Hears the problems, once the users starting coming in the load ave starts to climb hitting 10 but averaging 6 and the number of blocked processes increases sometimes reaching 10. I'm also using HFS and NFS version 2. Have I got the wrong hardware, wrong configuration or both?

Umm, are you sure you're in the right group? Perhaps you want one of the HP-UX forums?

To me, the details you have given don't match any Linux system I've ever used/built/seen.

Re: high load ave on nfs server

hi,
How many nfsd processses are running ?.
#ps -ef | grep nfsd
Try increasing the nfsd processes.
#nfsd 20
Also do this
#biod 15
