How to add to swpackages to firware CD

Can anyone point me to a doc or proceedure? I copied the files in the iso to a working directory. I put the new firmware scexe files into /compaq/swpackages. Then I tried creating the iso with the "mkisofs -J -R -v -T -o /tmp/my-fw.iso -b system/isolinux.bin -c system/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table ." command, but it never gets to the language selection screen. It hangs at the blue screen just before it.
