How to change language?

Hi,

Redhat AS3 has been installed in french by default.
Is it possible to change the language without reinstalling the server?

Thanks

Re: How to change language?

redhat-config-language is a graphical user interface that allows the user to change the default language of the system.

for RedHat AS3: redhat-config-language-1.0.14-2.noarch.rpm

Re: How to change language?

Try configuring /etc/sysconfig/i18n.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: How to change language?

Ok, redhat-config-language allows you to choose language between installed languages.
Here, only french is available with redhat-config-language.

Re: How to change language?

If another language does not exist at all, You should reinstall the system ...

Re: How to change language?

I've changed /etc/sysconfig/i18n, replacing "fr ..." by "en_US" and everything appears to be in english ...
Don't know if that is enough ...

Re: How to change language?

It should be for most shell related things.

You might run into some hiccups in the GUI though, but the language packs are pretty easy to install if needed.

Easy to install? Without reinstalling?
Do you have any procedure?

Re: How to change language?

no, but it's just a matter of installing the language packs.

That being said, I'm pretty sure that US/English is always installed by default.
