Re: how to check connection snmp between client?

install net-snmp for windows on the 2000 box. then try snmpwalk against the linux client.

http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/download.html

If it's working you will know from the output.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

A good tool for snmp work is getif. Just
look for it with a search on the Internet.

It is really a suite of tests but it also
contains a graphical mib walker.

You can simply point it at a host and issue
a simply snmp query to see if it responds.

Hi Natis

Linux comes with set of snmp command utilities. Check on the man page of snmpwalk/snmpget and snmpd.
