please may you say me as install step by step cpq_cciss-2.6.16-5.rhel4.i686.rpm for load a driver for smart array p400 with sas hdd when i start with cd1 of rhel4 AS?
I have to install the os RHEL4 AS ( has not a drive for p400 ) for the first time on proliant dl385g2 without floppy disk drive.

Solution
That file is not for use during installation time. You need to find out a "driver disk image" for the storage controller to be used at installation time.
That package file is used in case you have the operating sytem already installed and to install a rpm file you use:
rpm -ivh filename.rpm
