HP A3495-60301 Lan card unclaimed
Afternoon.
An easy one for you:
# ioscan -fnC lan
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
lan 0 10/4/4 btlan1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP HP-PB 100 Base TX card
lan 1 10/4/8 btlan1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP HP-PB 100 Base TX card
lan 2 10/12/6 lan2 CLAIMED INTERFACE Built-in LAN
/dev/diag/lan2 /dev/ether2
lan 3 10/16/4 btlan1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP HP-PB 100 Base TX card
lan 4 10/16/8 btlan1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP HP-PB 100 Base TX card
so I need the driver to get it working. The installation media was a packaged up version of hpux 11i and does not have the drivers. I have got original, untainted hpux 11i installation disks but what files am I looking for, and how should I install them? swinstall???
Any help would be appreciated.

Shalom,
insf -e
Please post model command output.
If the card is not specifically supported in your hardware it won't work.
You posted to Linux. The thread will be moved to HP-UX.

Re: HP A3495-60301 Lan card unclaimed
*Which* 11i? 11iv1, v2 or v3, and are you certain that your hardware (K class? - a guess based on your built-in being driven by the lan2 driver and your having NIO, sorry, HP-PB slots) is supported by that release?
I do not know that the btlan1 driver ever became part of a Core OS media - back in the day it was on the DART CD (Applications media). You would be perusing the untainted (what do you mean by that?) media via swinstall and look for the driver that way.

Re: HP A3495-60301 Lan card unclaimed
Thanks for the help so far. No idea how/why this got put under linux instead of hpux...certainly nothing I conciously did!
A bit of background info here...yes, it is an old K-class server, still kicking around. A recent disk failure means I'm reinstalling it...
Our traditional installation media is hpux 11i v1 bundled up into a package that includes our application software as well. What I meant by "untainted" hpux install CDs would be original HP disks, not our bundled up ones.
insf -e made no difference to the lan cards.
Looking at an equivalent server, swlist shows the following:
#
# Bundle(s):
#
100BaseT-00 B.11.11.01 EISA 100BaseT;Supptd HW=A4308B;SW=J2780BA
100BaseT-01 B.11.11.01 HP-PB 100BaseT;Supptd HW=A3495A;SW=J2759BA
So I have a fair idea what I need to get...the only question is how? I'll try swinstall on the installation media and see what comes up...
