HP iLO2 high performance mouse only works for root user
Hi
My system
DL380G5
Red Hat AS4 Update 3 64 bit
rpm installed
hpmouse-1.1.1.-41
hpasm-7.8.0-88.rhel4
I access Remote Console and login as root user and run startx. High performance mouse is already enabled and the mouse is synchronised
ps -ef | grep hpmouse shows the hpmouse process
10:23 ? 00:00:00 ( -p /dev/hpmouse
But when I log in as a non root user. High performance mouse does not work. The mouse does not move at all when the "high performance" option is selected.
Upon exiting X windows. I noted the following error message
waiting for X server to shut down Exec failed for command "/opt/hp/hpmouse/hpmouse-helper (Permission denied)
There is also no hpmouse process.
What could be wrong?

Re: HP iLO2 high performance mouse only works for root user
Shalom,
Permissions on the software and drivers for the mouse. They probably don't permit access to users other than root. Start looking in the /opt/hp/hpmouse directory.

Re: HP iLO2 high performance mouse only works for root user
I have the same issue - Did you ever solve it?
If i manually change perms on those files it fails with the following
Program "/opt/hp/hpmouse/hpmouse-helper" died on signal 49
Any ideas ?
