HP Prolaint DL380 platform OS Opensuse Crash
I have a problem with one of my servers. All of them are running Opensuse 10.3 used as LAMP servers. One of them crashes every 2 weeks. The OS just quits running. The strange thing that I SIM neither ILO notifies me of that event. For both of them the Server is still up and running while the OS isn't running anymore. I can 't find any reports in var.log ... So I think there has to be something wrong with the hardware of the server. The only solution I have for the moment is executing a cold boot when the incident occurs.
Kind regards,
Kind regards,

Re: HP Prolaint DL380 platform OS Opensuse Crash
Shalom,
Look at /var/log/messages
Lets see what happens right before the crash.
Things to look at:
Hardware problems. Boot the system with diagnostics and check all aspects of hardware.
Check for a major patch set to the OS.
