hp_rescan needed to see disks from EVA8000
I'm have a DL585 connected to an EVA8000. Since the last reboot, i need to to an hp_rescan to see the disks. They no longer mount on bootup and all subsequent oracle ASM steps fail.
If I hp_rescan, and load the failed services all is OK.
Originally all disks would show up on reboot.
Any ideas?

Maybe, your initial ram disk image need to be recreated to include HBA modules. Try adding your HBA modules to the initial ram disk.

Re: hp_rescan needed to see disks from EVA8000
What is your Linux version?
For using EVA in Linux environment you need to have at least one of the following versions of linux.
RHEL 3U7
RHEL 4U3
SLES 8SP4
SLES 9SP3
You should upgrade your linux to one of the above version. Also if it is not possible to upgrade the systems you should add the commands (hp_rescan , mount) at the end of rc.local file.
