hpterm in linux
Anybody know how to get hpterm to work in linux? Or if it's even possible?

I think it does
there is an entry in terminfo
also the command
locate hpterm
find this entry on a RH 9
/usr/share/terminfo/X/X-hpterm
/usr/share/terminfo/h/hpterm
and the man terminfo is full of reference to the hpterm and hpterm like term
I can not check this as I dont have an hpterm, but after all the above I do not see why not

hpterm won't work on Linux as it is based on a very very old architecture. There are many dependencies on X11R4 (anybody remember that release) and proprietary technology that still has not been retired.
There are some alternatives. There is a product called gFox from this place:
http://www.cityc.co.uk/gfox/
It actually has more features than hpterm and might be worth checking out if you need things like block mode.
The stuff mentioned in the previous email is just terminfo files.
