i386 package on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AS x86_64 architecture

Is it possible to install i386 rpm packages on a ProLiant DL380G4 with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AS (AMD64/EMT64T version) ?

you can install x86 package on x86_64 machine. it will run, but it cant take full advantage of x86_64 performance boost

And is it possible to install a standard x386 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AS on ProLiant DL380 G4 because we have an application which verify the linux architecture and refuse an installation on x86_64 platform.

yes you can install without any problems. we do that everyday here.
