Install an HP NC7170 PCI-X Network Adapter.
I am installing an NC7170 network adapter in an HP Proliant DL360, but we get the error:
Makefile : 162 : *** *** Aborting the Build *** This driver is not supported in kernel versions older than 2.4.0. Stop.#
When building the driver.
All the latest updates are installed. The driver version is: version 6.1.10B-1 (16 Aug 05)
We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (Standard for x86, AMD64 & Intel EM64T, and Intel Itanium
The kernel version is:
Linux Core1 2.4.21-30.0.1.ELSmp #1 SMP Tue May 17 17:52:23 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Any advice would be most welcome.

Re: Install an HP NC7170 PCI-X Network Adapter.
Kernel version is 2.4.21? It must not show this. Ok. Do Make deinstall to remove this build.
Check what is there in Makefile on related with kernel version checking.
hth.

Easy to suggest when don't know about the problem!
