install ansi c ompiler
using the gui swinstall, i got no errors but when i went to install 3 patches for the 'c' compiler i got these errors for each of the patches:
The patch fileset "PHSS_33277.C,r=1.0" may only be installed
upon a previously installed base fileset. The specification
for this base fileset is "C-ANSI-C.C,fr=C.06.00,v=HP"

Re: install ansi c ompiler
I believe B3899BA is for a series 700 HPUX11...
and the patch you are mentionning is for a HPUX 11.23
On what OS version are you trying to install the C-ANSI compiler and is it a series 800?
All the best
Victor

And more importantly, it is for IPF, not PA.
From the following page, B.11.02.10 is for 11.00 April 2004.
http://www.hp.com/go/c
The patch and version page doesn't seem to list that base release:
http://h21007.www2.hp.com/portal/site/dspp/menuitem.863c3e4cbcdc3f3515b49c108973a801/?ciid=6208a8ea6ce02110a8ea6ce02110275d6e10RCRD
But you can patch it with PHSS_36086.

Re: install ANSI C compiler
Oops, I put a self-link to the other thread.
But it appears these are different because C.11.23.14 is the latest, A.06.15.
These patches PHSS_33277, PHSS_33278 and PHSS_33279 are NOT valid for A.06.15.
They are for a previous release.
>isn't the base fileset the ANSI C compiler I just installed?
No, it has a newer version.
I assume you are doing this because Oracle told you to do so?
