						Hello
I will be doing this first time.
What do I need to prepar to install Redhat Advanced Server V 4.0 on a DL 580 G3.
1) Hardware File Systems sizes
2) Any Parameters for Oracle 10g
3) Swap Space, tmp etc..
4) Mirror rootvg
5) move all users from AS Ver 2 to Ver 4.
Any other info that I need

Solution
			
				
					
					
						1) File system requirements are in the 10g install guide. Add 50% to them if needed.
2) Same for #2, follow these guidelines strictly.
3) Swap should be 1.0 to 1.5 ties RAM
4) Set up disk for mirroring witht he D580 boot cd that hopefully came with the server. Hardware raid 1 for data/index/redo.
5)Use disk druid if you can't or do not choose to raid 1 mirror everything in item 4. disk druid is part of the install process.
6) Users can move from /etc/passwd /etc/group and /etc/shadow Do not move system users, only users with id of 500 and above. You can use vi to do this.
Note 6 will not work if you are using LDAP or other integration.
