Installation Oracle9iAS(9.0.1.) on RedHat Linux 7.2
I must to install Oracle9.0.1(DataBase Server) and Oracle9iAS(9.0.1) on the single computer with RedHat Linux7.2. I have installed them, but Oracle9iAS does not attached to the running database. In other words tnsping from 6iserver doesn't work with it tnsnames.ora, which includes corresponding block from databases tnsnames.ora. I know that there is some additional steps for tuning manually Ora9iAS for my case. But there is nothing in the documentation about them.
Thanks

Re: Installation Oracle9iAS(9.0.1.) on RedHat Linux 7.2
Anyway, RedHat 8 is out now and much better than Redhat 7.2 - finally LVM is available and supported and works great (along with JFS).

Re: Installation Oracle9iAS(9.0.1.) on RedHat Linux 7.2
Thank's a lot for your answer. But I tried to do the same work on Red Hat Linux 8.0. The problem was the same. Additionally Apache-server didn't start properly etc.
Trouly yours
Efim

Re: Installation Oracle9iAS(9.0.1.) on RedHat Linux 7.2
Are you using Redhat 7 or 8 Advanced Server ? (It costs over $1000).
Are you using Oracle9iAS or just Oracle9i ?
Oracle9i = Redhat 7 or 8
Oracle9iAS = Redhat Advanced Server 2.x
If you dont have the correct combination of software I wouldnt expect it to work.
