installation
Try to install Linux PA-RISC 9.3 on a K460 box.
Keep getting "Kernel Fault code=26 ..." after boot the installation CD.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: installation
Try this URL for some info:
http://bugs.parisc-linux.org/db/15/154.html
Basically your problem appears to be an older one that is not reproducible in the newer kernel versions 2.4.17 and 2.4.18
HTH,
Paul

Re: installation
Hello,
Do you have the HP-PB buses? From the supported HW site:
The D, K and R class machines are at least partially supported. The HP-PB (aka NIO) devices aren't supported due to lack of documentation -- the same documentation which makes the Nova/Emerald machines unsupportable.
Are you trying to install the 32 bit or 64 bit version of PA-Linux? I have had much greater success with the 32 bit version.
Also check this page where someone has actually installed on K460 and compare the processors, firmware, etc. with what you have:
http://hwdb.parisc-linux.org/view.php3?type=machine&name=K460
Also, as a last resort you can try filing a bug-report:

Thanks for participating in the forums,
Martin
Chaos reigns within. Reflect, repent, and reboot. Order shall return.
