Installing Open office for Linux

Hi,
I'v downloaded Open Office and notice that the file extention is strange for me and i don't know how to install it. this is the patch name:
OOo_2.0.0_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz.part
if somebody can help

You have downloaded only one part. You have download all the remaining parts then, you will be able to join them.

Your download is incomplete. The .part file is created by mozilla/firefox for a download in progress.

You might be able to complete the download by going to the same site and continuing the download. You might not, depends.

I would however recommend if you are using a rpm Linux distribution like redhat/fedora/centos/xos that you download the rpm files and install them as followes:

rpm -ivh

expample:
rpm -ivh Openoffice1.18.rpm

These files are also provided on the original isntallation cd of many Linux's

Do you have linux CD? It will have openoffice rpm. Or download rpm.

You can install with source itself as,

http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.0rc/instructions.html#linux

Its an incomplete download once you have a complete download the file name will be :
OOo_2.0.0_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz

Downlaod again and you will be thru...
