Installing RH EL4 Update 4 on RX8640, SAN boot
Hi,
I'm having trouble installing RH EL4 update 4 on a RX8640 with 2xMontecito cpu's. The server has 2xAB379A/Qlogic HBA's and is connected to an EVA8000, at the moment with only one fibre. Support notes for RH EL4 U.4 does recommend using HP drivers, but I can't load a driver disk. When starting with Elilo: linux dd, the DVD does not eject/load the driver disk. Any suggestions what may be wrong ?

Shalom,
This server should be booted from local disk.
Though supported its more problem than its worth to do this. You probably need to create a new ramdisk image with the driver. The question is where to put it.

Until RH/HP gets the SCSI/IDE driver right, I will settle on SuSE 10. Installs and boots ok on SAN.

Used SuSE instead of RedHat
