internal 2 root disks on Linux

Dell equipment normally shipped with 2 internal root disks. If the OS is Linux, how to identify the two root disks device files? Any suggestions?

Can you explain a little more what you need to do? Do you need to identify which of the two disks is phisically the disk that holds the root file system?

What are the ouput of fdisk -l, vgdisplay and pvdisplay?
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: internal 2 root disks on Linux

Most of my Dell servers shipped with on-board PERC RAID controllers. Each configured RAID volume is presented as a single SCSI disk (/dev/sda, /dev/sdb, etc) and the only way to see individual disks inside the array is through Dell's diagnostic and management utilities.

Re: internal 2 root disks on Linux

Shalom,

If the Dell server has an internal raid controller, then set up raid 1 mirroring.

This will present a single disk to the OS but provide for disk failure without the OS ever knowing the difference.
