kernel: application bug: sqlplus(29877) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().
Hi,
We have an linux oracle server.
A weblogic instance from another server (solaris 10) is accessing a database instance running on this server.
However the weblogic process seems to hang.
Find below the details of linux oracle server. Please suggest.
We are accessing a oracle 10g R2 database instance.
[root@bangpcrh31 log]# more /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 3)
/var/log/messages
-----------------
Sep 6 16:44:49 bangpcrh31 kernel: application bug: sqlplus(29877) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().
Sep 6 16:44:49 bangpcrh31 kernel: (see the NOTES section of 'man 2 wait'). Workaround activated.
Sep 6 16:52:25 bangpcrh31 kernel: application bug: sqlplus(29877) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().

Thanks & Regards,

Shalom,
You may wish to get the system updated to a newer RH 3, though that will be a difficult endeavor.
This is probably from two possible sources.
1) The need to isntall errata from RH.
2) A possible Oracle patch.
You may not have an OS patch installed that you need.
It could however have nothing to do with the RH system and be a need for Weblogic patched or configured correctly on the Solaris system.
