please send me each step of kernel upgradation,i'm using RHEL 3 kernel 2.4...
i want to install 2.6 kernel, also where i will get new kernel, please help me........

Solutionrpm -ivh kernel-version.rpm
I don't know if RHN has available 2.6 version for RHEL 3. If so, then other dependencies must be downloaded also.

You can use an *.rpm format.
I think is better download the last version of kernel to "www.kernel.org" and use a manual configuration, but i know this is not easy.
Then you must to recompile in various mode, graphical or textual mode.
Be sure you have the gcc installed.

Even it's possible technically (but not easy) I don't suggest to do this on production environment.
If you really need 2.6 kernel, take RHEL 4 or wait a few months for RHEL5.
