Lan speed/mode settings under linux

How do I determine the lan speed setting (10/100 mbps) and mode settings (full/half duplex, autonegociate) under linux?

Most distributions now have 'mii-tool' which shows the details you are after.

mii-diag reports the status of linux ethercard.

1. Download mii-diag.c from ftp://scyld.com/pub/diag/.
2. Try to compile this file using
gcc mii-diag.c -o mii-diag
3. Try to execute ./mii-diag
