Version: 2.4.21-4.EL
Platform: HP Omnibook 4150
Does anyone know of a PCMCIA SCSI card
that is available and works with a laptop?
I'm trying to get my old Bus Toaster that
uses the sym53c500 to work, but I'm having
a bear of a time.
I was able to do some sneaky things when
I went from the 1.2 kernel to the 2.1, but
the current Linux source directory and kernel
building rules are tough to work with under
the 2.4 generation.
regards,
tonyp

Re: Laptop: pcmcia scsi card & driver
o When you insert the card, does
KUDUZ find it?
o If you do a
build the modules by itself, or do
you need to do some funny stuff?

Re: Laptop: pcmcia scsi card & driver
The driver is aha152x I am running fedora Core 2 but have had this running as of 5.2 of redhat if my memory serves me well ... I did have to a few problem then but this is now well detected by all the various kernel (distributions) I have installed (anacron will detect this at installation time) or the kernel has to be scsi aware but just the default scsi and aha152x as module option in the kernel config, plus the aha152x as module should do the trick.
Have a look at the attached file (lsmod and dmesg at insert of the pcmcia card)
kudzu does not react when i put this card in cardmgr is running and it will take care of mounting the card and attached Hardware (at least that is what i "think" )
tell me if you need more ...! once again sorry for the delay.

Well, I got a hold of a ad1460D card.
It took ALOT of work, but I got it up and
running. Works fine.
Thanx for the help.
