Linux and the AC'97 Sound Card in the Pavilion 762n

I have installed the SUSE 9.3 workstation on an HP Pavilion 762n system.

All the components worked well except the Sound Card.

I am not certain what the next thing to try is. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Which sound driver you are using ? ALSA or other ? I think, you may need to recompile the kernel to biuld with ALSA drivers.
