I guessing that this question isn't about with distribution to use, but what to use to connect all there different systems up. The simplest answer would be to just use Samba. The Mac OS X, Linux and Win 32 boxes could all be configured to work together with Samba. I'm not sure if there is Samba available for Mac OS 9, but I'm assuming that there must be some sort of SMB client software out there for OS 9.

Alternatively, you could use NFS on the Mac OS X and Linux boxes to the server. There is also netatalk which will do Appletalk with the Mac OS 9 if you cannot get Samba to work with them.

As far as I know, mac os 9 doesn't support smb protocol natively. unfortunately I have to purchase third party sw, like "dave".
