How do i make the account non expire in suse as well as redhat - which is an existing account

Shalom,

This can be done with the passwd command.

You can make the expiration time up to a few years in the future.

This will of course cause you to fail security audits going forward.

You could also replicate system users that don't expire and change their characteristics to be login users.

All of this is however opening a huge security hole and not recommended.

Please check the man page for chage, option -M.
