linux security user restrictions

Hi All,

How can we restrict a user when he access a linux machine can't go to any folder other than the one that he access to it upon login, also restrict him to use just specific commands and can't use anything else.

Appreciate any help here.

Thanks,

Re: linux security user restrictions

Shalom,

It is called a chroot setup.

The basic idea is to limit the user to the home directory.

To do this relevant commands need to be provided to the user environment via a small configuration.

It can however be challenging to set this up.
