is it possible to create image in linux ?
via Drive Image Pro, I have created the images of all servers running win 2k. Now I want to know is it possible to create images in linux ? if it is possible then plz le me know.
Any help, suggestion, step-by-step tutorial/howto .. plz
os = rhl 9
partitions
/dev/hda1 /boot
/dev/hda2 /
/dev/hda3 /usr
/dev/hda5 /var
/dev/hda6 /home
/dev/hda7 /tmp
/dev/hda8 /opt
/dev/hda9 swap

SolutionThis project will do a fine job.
If you have norton ghost, it will make a good image as well but your system can't be running during the image process.

mondo is good but try partimage ( http://www.partimage.org/ ).
One good solution to save all of your partitions is to boot from a live distro that has partimage inside. I use Kurumin ( http://www.guiadohardware.net/kurumin/ ), a very good brasilian distro by Carlos Morimoto. It's based on Knoppix. Unfortunatly for you all the site instructions are is Brasilian Portuguese but I think that you can do the job.
