Can anybody tell me where I could find the US Robotics Modem Driver for Red Hat Linux AS 2.1

Most USR modems will be autodetected by that Red Hat Kernel.

Unless of course its a winmodem.

Attention on serial modems, I think that is your case, but read all stuff.

The US Robotics modem doesn't need drivers. Do the usual config of the uucp area and you should be able to connect to the modem using the cu command. Once connected you should be able to enter the USR command set and receive responses. (From what I remember, the USR command set and the Hayes command set are different.)

One last note, on a UN*X system I prefer an external modem so I can watch "das blinkin lights". Examples, it allows me to see if TR is low or high, if the DR light is blinking on data receives, etc...
