lvcreate error

I am running Red Hat 5.5, and trying to create a lv in a new VG and receiving following error:

# lvcreate -L 168 -n lvol01 datavg1
Aborting. Failed to activate new LV to wipe the start of it.

# vgdisplay -v datavg1
