This is probably a stupid question, but here goes, anyone every try make_recovery on a RH Linux 7.1 workstation with success?

Solution
Hi Frankie,
this should be impossible to make a make_recovery- tape for a RH 7.1 because this command is HP-UX- specific. At my level of knowledge you have to create a bootable floppy and to backup data after booting the floppy. Perhaps it is possible to use the OBDR- technologie for Linux as well as for Windows.... One Button Disaster Recovery- tapes do a simple trick: When booting the device "tells" the operating system, that it's a CDROM- device, after booting it "changes" back to magnetic tape device.
Allways stay on the bright side of life!

Re: make_system_recovery tape
Since you are on Intel architecture, most of the drive imaging utilities like Ghost or ImageCast can be used to give essentially the same functionality as make_recovery
