Mandrake 9.1 on Presario 2500

Hi !

I've got a Presario 2500 (2528EA) and I would like to install the Mandrake Linux 9.1. Unfortunately, the installation is freezing when it detects the firewire and tried to install the driver. How can I install my Linux version without this problem ? Do you use others distributions ?
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,
Now your Redhat is working OK and you are trying Mandrake ?

It's a harder problem...

Whatesoever, there definetly seems to be a video card detection problem, not only firewire. Try text based install, and have a look at http://www.linux-laptop.net/
where you'll find plenty of resources on this point.

Mandrake is not much sure, check at
http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/hardware.php3
They only 'think' it may work.

Good luck.

BTW, plese assign points if our replies seem useful to you. It's just a game of course, but we like this play :]]

Hello!

How about RH 9 it should work better
with the firewire and maybe solve your problem.
