Network printing with HP Deskjet 6840

I'm trying to set an HP6840 up as a network printer. It looks like I have everything set up properly except when I go to printconf I need to specify a queue name on the printer. I haven't spotted anything in the printer setup about a queue name and haven't a clue what to use. Can anybody help?

BTW, I'm running Fedora Core 3 and trying to set it up as a "Unix printer."

Hi Steve,

queue name is just for identification of a print queue, you can name it anything you like.

Re: Network printing with HP Deskjet 6840

Thanks for the reply. Actually I found out last night that I needed to set it up as "jetdirect" instead of "Unix network." Then the queue becomes moot. BTW, I also found that I could not access the printer from a RedHat 7.2 machine since the "hpijs" driver and proper version of "ghostscript" didn't ship with the distro until RedHat 8. Finally I'll note that upgrading the drivers is a bigger pain than installing the new OS. ;-)
