chkconfig ntpd on
service ntpd start

Modifiy the /etc/ntp.conf file to reflect a time server your system has access to.

Most Corporate network firewalls block access to port 123 on the public Internet. But normally one server is granted access to external time servers and that is the server you wish to use in ntpd.conf

chkconfig --list ntpd
# Current settings.
