openswan + l2tpd problem

Hi all!

I've a problem with Openswan 2.3.1.
My configuration is with a linux RH9.0 gateway and a Windows XP laptop.

I've configured openswan with l2tpd and all seems to works correctly.
I can connect with linux gateway and access the servers behind the linux gateway.
But after 2 or three minutes i lost the connection with linux gateway.

On the gateway i get this message:
inux pluto[3291]: "sample"[1] 213.45.189.103 #1: received Delete SA(0x60781d61) payload: deleting IPSEC State #2

On client i get: general error.

Any suggetsion?? thanks

Re: openswan + l2tpd problem

I am not openswan expert. But for me it looks like some connection timeout related problem.

Check the load on the linux gateway and any timeout set in openswan (including socket timeout).

May we know the reason to go for RH9.0? it is way old and has lot of known bugs in the kernel which can be easily exploited by the hackers. I believe this machine is listening on the external network which makes things worser. Try using FC4 and openswan combination, it may also have solution for this problem.
