OS Backup

Hi,

I am a HP-UX admin. Is there any tool like Ignite in RHEL 4.0, so that we can do backup/restore. I understand we can do the backup with dd command, but not sure how to restore in need. RHEL is installed on rx7640 server.

There are many backup solutions on linux. Free ones as Bacula. Commercial ones as Data Protector or Arkeia... But if what your looking for is much like ignite (system images) you should have a look at G4L (Ghost 4 Linux). I use it successfuly to make images of windows and Linux systems. Done many backup, many restores. You must boot on a CD, and image of the disk or partition, can be put on secondary disk or sent through network on an ftp server. And it's free.
