Oscar on a cluster, prb with DHCP..
I'm introuble with Oscar in the "automatic" installation on the other nodes of my cluster.(Proliant servers..)
When attempting to boot a client (via PXE,DHCP,TFTP), it's failed :
DHCPDISCOVER on lo to 255.255.255.255 port 67
three or four times..then it's failed..
I think it's a problem with my broadcom 4700 , but i've recompiled my kernel to have the rigt drivers on my server..and it's ok..
So why don't are they transmitted to the client..?
Any idea..?
thanks!!

Re: Oscar on a cluster, prb with DHCP..
It could be the broadcomm card, even with the correct drivers. I'm really not sure why people use them, but I have had nothing but trouble with them.
Give me a good old fashioned intel card for a few more bucks any day.
I think the broadcom card driver may not be able to handle the transaction. Maybe someone else knows better, I have no proof.

Re: Oscar on a cluster, prb with DHCP..
The problem was form the mini kernel sent to the client.. it does not contain the correct driver...
To bypass this problem, going to systemimager.org to compile a brand new kernel for my clients...
and that's it..!
