I have 2 problems installing APLS
- When installing APLS I can't start them because I get the following error:
/etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 11: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: not found
/etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 19: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: not found - I also deleted the files needed to reinstall, but APLS is still there and I don't have the startup.sh file in the path HP AutoPass License Server/HP AutoPass License Server/bin/startup.sh, so I can't reinstall APLS or uninstall APLS.
Here is the full output after I run the service hpLicenseServer start command:
/etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 11: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: not found
/etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 19: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: not found
$Starting hpLicenseServer service
sh: 0: Can't open /workspace/Duy/HPE/HP AutoPass License Server/HP AutoPass License Server/bin/startup.sh
Something went wrong during hpLicenseServer startup. Please verify the Logs.
Can anyone tell me how to fix it? Thank you!

Re: Problem installing APLS
I know nothing about APLS, but...
> /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 11: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: notfound
> /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: 19: /etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer: [[: not found
What's on lines 11 and 19 of "/etc/init.d/hpLicenseServer"?
Are you (or is it) using a shell which does not support "[["?
> sh: 0: Can't open /workspace/Duy/HPE/HP AutoPass License Server/HP
> AutoPass License Server/bin/startup.sh
Whose idea was it to use a directory name with embedded white space?
And why does that one directory name appear two-deep in the path in
that message? One "/HP AutoPass License Server/" is bad enough; two of
them looks to me unlikely to be correct. (But what do I know?)
What's in "/workspace/Duy/HPE/"?
What's in "/workspace/Duy/HPE/HP AutoPass License Server/"?
(Use appropriate escapes or quotation when exploring, to avoid new
errors from those spaces.)

Re: Problem installing APLS
Hi,
Can you tell us where this AutoPass License Server is being used?
APLS version?
Please see if any of these docs help you resolve the issue.
https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/AutoPass_License_Server/11.8.0/LicenseManagement-TroubleshootingAndLimitations
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=sd00001419en_us&page=GUID-CCE936EF-FB0D-4BF1-B002-3CB9125C55B9.html
To install the APLS software on a host machine (Linux or Windows), see AutoPass License Server User Guide, which is part of the downloaded APLS software.
Thank You!

Re: Problem installing APLS
Hi @Steven Schweda ,
Thank you for the advice, I will check if the shell supports ]].
As for the naming, I didn't create these folders myself, they were there after I ran the "setup.bin" file.
Again, thank you for your interest in my problem and for giving me advice.

Re: Problem installing APLS
Hi @Suman_1978 ,
Thank you for supporting me. I use APLS version 9.12 downloaded from the following link: https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/product-download-info/APLS/9.12/sw_free
I looked at the AutoPass License Server User Guide and it didn't help me in solving the problem. I will go through the links you sent to try reinstalling APLS. If there is a problem, I will respond to you.
Thank you for taking care of my problem and giving me advice! Have a good day!

Re: Problem installing APLS
Hi @Suman_1978 ,
I am very grateful to you for helping me. But after looking at the documents you gave, I still can't reinstall APLS
I update my Ubuntu, from 16.04 to 18.04. However, I still get the old results.
I'm sorry for the late response and have to inform you that I haven't been able to reinstall APLS yet. Hope you will continue to support me
Have a good day!

SolutionHi,
Unfortunately I could not find any information about that error or reinstall of APLS.
Here is the doc I found HPE Swarm Learning Installation and Configuration Guide
If still having issues, consider contacting HPE Support and log a case @ hpe.com/contact
Thank You!

Re: Problem installing APLS
After trying different ways, I decided to install APLS on my Window laptop, and it worked. I will continue to try deleting and reinstalling APLS on Linux and will report back to you with the results.
Thank you for the great support you have given me. Have a good day!
