Do an "rpm -q" on "gcc" and "kernel-headers".

Uninstall the PSP software. That was the cause of the problem, for some reason your system doesn't like it.
You might find RHEL AS 4 update 4 gets around this issue.
Please state the type of system, it can make a difference here.

One of my systems works and the other does not. They are both HP DL580-G2. I can't go to update 4 as it is not supported by all of my components yet (EMC DMX2 disk, EMC PowerPath software, Qlogic qla2340 HBAs, Oracle RAC DB.
