Problem with LPrng 3.6.12 on HPUX 11.00

Hi:

Has anyone tried LPrng on HPUX 11.00 ? -- I got problem with it. Basically both "lpd" and "ifhp' are working well on their own, but they just don't work togather.

When I "%lpr -P prt1 testfile", I got "OF filter problems, error 'JFAIL'" from /var/spool/lpd/prt1/status.prt1 file, and got "write error - Destination address required" in /var/spool/lpd/prt1/status file.

The same version LPrng (with exactly same configuration) works on HPUX 10.20 box without any problem.

To me it looks like the lpd can not communicate with ifhp well, and the problem is HPUX 11.00 specific.

Can anyone share some experience on building LPrng on HPUX 11.00 ? Is there any known bug with any IPC calls on HPUX 11.00 ?

Thanks for help!

Jin

Jin,

there are significant differences between the HP 10.20 and 11.0 operating systems.

For starters, do you have the 10.20 libraries loaded on 11.0?
