Red Hat AS 4 with EVa

I have Itanium rx2620 with A6826A (qlogic) HBA. I install RH AS 4 on it.
Then I install driver kit from HP site.
After that I connect my server to EVA storage.
I see 8 connections. I think that my linux still use native qlogic driver.
I try too use HP installation guide for driver kit (Notes on Upgrading Kernels and Changing Driver Parameters), but I think that is for older version of Red Hat Linux, becuse I don't have some files they mentioned in guide.
I wan't to see only one connection.
Mybe someone have some new driver kit installation guide ?
I have one question more. What is goal of SANsurfer program.

Re: Red Hat AS 4 with EVa

Shalom Dusan,

You need to use a version of the driver kit certified for your OS version, not one set up for an older version.

The kernel was upgraded in RH AS 4 over older versions and the wrong driver software could result in a rather big mess.

The sansurfer program is designed to let you see and configure data on your EVA for use with redhat. You can set the raid level and such with it.

Re: Red Hat AS 4 with EVa

"sansurfer" is an umbrella name for a set of programs from QLogic to manage their own Fibre Channel components. The program to manage an EVA is "Command View EVA".

Re: Red Hat AS 4 with EVa

We use 2620's with the 6826a under rhel4, and we see the same thing with our EVA. We've discovered that the EVA and the 6826 both need firmware upgrades. However, since we are lazy, we just ignore the extra connections.

New version of driver is O.K.
