RHAS 3.0 with Oracle 10G and RAC

We're currently running RH Linux AS 3.0 with Oracle 10g and RAC. So far, everything are working great and powerful. The only minor issue that I'm having is the inter-connect between 2 servers through a Gigabit switch and two 1GB NICs. At the moment, I can only get about 25MB of data through my inter-connect. Both servers showing both NICs set to 1000mbps Full_Duplex /auto-neg and the switch is set to full_duplex /autoneg as well.

What am I missing? What's the right procedure to setup the inter-connect?

Thanks,
J

Hi

Can you provide some more details for that switch and those two server, hardisks and memory.

Is there any VLAN being configured ?

How did you test the inter-connect between these two server ?

thanks

Shalom Jorge,

Run the tool ethtool on the server.

ethtool eth1

Take a look at the output for issues. Then check the syslog.

Silly question, but have you tried replacing cables, trying different ports, etc... We run ours in the same config and it screams along... You could also try using a crossover between the two machines thus removing the switch from the mix... just a thought... not a long term solution, just to help narrow down the issue...

Just had a similar problem J, solved it by figureing your my netmask didn't meet the requirements of the VLAN configuration of the switch.

Sounds like a job for the networking folks.
