Re: RHEL4 ES rather than RHEL4 AS
You need to install AS to properly change this output.
Messing with the redhat-release file or other configuration files will not help and is a big time license violation.
Something in your install process failed.
I suggest a new cold install.
If in fact you have merely accidentally overwritten the /etc/redhat-release file then copy it from another AS system and you will be done.

Re: RHEL4 ES rather than RHEL4 AS
When I did the install I did not notice any failures of any sort. The installation was a success. Am I missing something here. I will read the README files to make sure that it is RHEL4 AS. I'm new to Linux so pls bear with me. Is there any other info you need from me.

Re: RHEL4 ES rather than RHEL4 AS
to confirm, what is the redhat-release package installed?
rpm -qa redhat-release
or
rpm -q --queryformat '%{VERSION}' redhat-release

Re: RHEL4 ES rather than RHEL4 AS
Discs 2 to 5 are identical for both AS and ES.
Cheers,
