I am pretty much new to the Linux world. However, i woul dlike to setup a file server for my home network. Thing oif it is, i am not finding the necessary documentation or steps to setup and configure a successful Samba file server. I have Fedora-Red Hat installed on the machine i wish to use for this file server. Question is, How to setup Fedora w/ Samba to run as a file server? Any suggestions on where i might get a step-by-step procedure on how to accomplish this? Again, i am new to the Linux world, so i do not understand some of the jargain.

You probably want to start here:

So you finally broke down and joined, huh? I only have one thing to say to you about that move:
IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Hey,
I just did a search on the web and I found this little tidbit that may give you a better understanding of the software you are attempting to configure. It doesn't look like it give you a step-by-step on how to do it, but I like the general info on it.
Check it out for yourself and draw your own conclusions:

This one seems to get a little more in depth with the entire process, but I don't know if you will be able to follow along (of course, that doesn't keep you from bugging me about it tomorrow, does it?). Check this out:
http://www.linuxheadquarters.com/howto/networking/samba.shtml
Of course, I will keep looking around as time permits and post any further findings here. It is much easier to keep track of them here than it is to keep up with the pieces of paper that URLs get written on at work!
Ladies and Gentlemen, please be nice to this guy since his only Linux teacher up until now has been me (scary thought, huh?)
Thanks,
John
