securing SQUID

Hi friends,

I want to secure SQUID usage by wrapping SQUID services into an antivirus/ pop-up blocker/ anti spyware etc. I found that squidguard can be used for this purpose as a redirector and then any antivirus(like clamav) can be used for virus-protection, but the squidguard software for download is very old.

Please advice how to protect squid usage by clients from pop-ups/ viruses/ spywares etc.

Thanks in adv

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: securing SQUID

If u can spend some money u can go for Trend Micro's Web Security Suite which contains in-built antivirus/spyware/url filtering and content filtering . We are using this in our setup where squid is masked behind the web security suite and the clients will connect to the web security suite which are redirected to squid if it is a valid request . For popups i think u can use some popup blockers (like the one from google) in ur client pcs .
